Barn doors might sound a bit “country,” but they work surprisingly well even in the most modern interiors. That’s precisely why they’re becoming wildly popular among homeowners looking to revamp their homes and infuse them with unique finishes and features that make their spaces feel both stylish and homey.

If you’re not sure how to incorporate barn doors into your home, here are a few ideas to help you get started.

Bathroom Doors

One of the great benefits of barn doors is that they do not tak

e up all that floor space that traditional swinging doors do. Instead, they simply slide back and forth on gliders when in use. As such, they work quite well as bathroom doors when square footage is a bit tight.

Pantry Doors

If you’re lucky enough to have a pantry in your kitchen, barn doors can work really well to conceal all your foodstuff. You might even want to play around with your pantry barn door by adding a chalkboard to its face to make for a convenient and accessible grocery list, reminder board, or just a fun space to leave daily messages.

Side Tables

Any side table, console, or other smaller table that you use in your home to house various items can be easily installed with smaller-scale barn doors to hide many of your things as storage. Many of these pieces leave everything exposed, but adding barn doors can serve as enclosures to make the space appear tidier while adding a few stylish elements.

Separate Rooms

If there are any awkward spaces or small areas in your home that you’d like to be sectioned off from other rooms, barn doors can be a viable solution. For instance, a studio apartment can use barn doors to create a separate sleeping area sectioned off from the living space for more privacy.

Add Some Colour

Barn doors don’t necessarily have to be left in their natural wood hue. Feel free to paint the door in any colour you please to serve as an accent in your space.
